Map of participating farms here.

This is the official Midcoast Cheese Trail kick-off for the 2019 season.  Get up close and personal with the farm animals, the cheesemakers and their helpers. Buy some cheese and other products  straight from the farm.  We’ll have links here to each participating Trail member’s take on our “hugging” event as details become available.

Appleton Creamery – Appleton  – 11 am to 3 pm
Visit the farm and meet the kids! Sample and buy some of the season’s first goat cheese. The food truck Yum Bus will be joining us, as well as Stone Fox Creamery ice cream! We’re celebrating our Silver Jubilee in 2109!  Map and farm info here.

ME Water Buffalo Co – Appleton  11 am to 4 pm
Come celebrate spring with us at our first farm event this year to cuddle our newest baby water buffalo, “Roma”. We will be giving walking tours around our farm yard so you can meet all of the animals on our farm. In addition to getting a close encounter with baby “Roma”, visitors can also pet & feed our goats & sheep, see our lamb & even visit with our pigs. We will have water buffalo cheese, yogurt & gelato available at this event along with some farm tees. Bring your smiles & your cameras, but please leave your pets at home. For directions to our farm go to www.mewaterbuffaloco.co Map and farm info here.

Pumpkin Vine Family Farm – Somerville –  11 am to 4 pm

We’ve got 39 (and counting) baby goats who need some love! Come help us out between 11 – 4, for an armful (or lapful) of furry snuggles. Fresh, creamy spring milk is flowing again, so be sure to sample our farmstead cheese and yogurt, as well as a variety of other treats at our farmers’ market. Grab a cup of coffee and a pastry and enjoy a stroll in our beautiful back fields – they’re turning green, but need some encouragement to grow! Whether you need a laugh or a moment of peace, you can find it at the end of the road in Somerville… Map and farm info here.

Fuzzy Udder  Creamery – Whitefield – 11 am to 5 pm

Come visit and snuggle our newborn lambs and kids born on the farm this spring. There will be sheep and goat milk hot chocolate and cheese and meat to sample and buy. Suggested donation $5-$15 sliding scale.  Map and farm info here.

Barred Owl Creamery at Hamilton Farm – Whitefield – 11 am to 4 pm

Come visit the farm and snuggle with our new baby animals and meet their mamas.  Sample and buy some of the first cheese of the 2019 season.  Our farm store will be open and it will be filled with lots of farm products (including our lamb, chicken & pork), baked goodies and wool items. Map and farm info here.

Copper Tail Farm  – Waldoboro – 11 am to 3 pm

Come snuggle the babies, see the mamas, and sample/purchase our products! This is the OFFICIAL KID HUGGING DAY that we share with other farms on the Midcoast Cheese Trail.  $1 suggested donation per person.
